There are many things that make each of us the person we are - experience, heritage, race, culture, age, background, ethnicity and personal history - and these things influence the way we interact with one another. Through MatSE's diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging events and programs, we hope to expand our understanding of each other and appreciate the diverse community that makes our department and research excel.
Ongoing Programs
EMS Rainbow Network
MatSE is proud to be part of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) Rainbow Network. We believe that the best science emerges when our researchers can bring their whole selves to the team. Patterned after the Eberly College of Sciences' Rainbow Science Network, the Rainbow EMS Network fosters a fully inclusive environment in our research groups and identifies research groups that have received advanced training in LGBTQ issues beyond the Safer People Safer Places Network. Take the MatSE feedback survey
We want to hear how you feel about being part of the MatSE community, today, tomorrow, or whenever you want to tell us. This one-minute survey is just one way for the department to hear from you. Use this link, hit the button or scan the QR code, but hearing from you on good days or not so good days is important to use in making MatSE a successful and thriving community.
